Custom event dates let you store and use information about dates that are important to your participants. For example, you may want to schedule a survey three days after discharge from a hospital, or a week before surgery.
Creating Custom Event Dates
To set up a custom event date for your project:
- Go to the "Projects" screen and select the "Project Settings" tab.
- Select "Custom Event Dates."
- Give the event a name and click Add.
Click the trash icon next to an event date to delete it. Deleting event dates will not affect previously collected survey data.
Be sure that no surveys are using a custom event date before deleting it. Surveys referencing non-existent event dates will have errors.
Setting Event Dates
There are several ways to set an event date for a participant, so you can choose the way that works best for your project.
Setting Event Dates in the Participant Viewer
You can update the participant's date on the participant viewer. Select a participant and then select the "Event Dates" tab. Enter the date and save the participant.
Setting Event Dates in Surveys
On survey questions using the date answer format, you can choose to save the participant's answer in a custom event date.
Custom Dates may be set in the past or the future. However, surveys with delivery dates in the past will not be delivered. For example, if you set the schedule to 7 days after surgery but the participant had surgery 14 days ago, that survey will not be delivered.
